WHAT TO WEAR FOR YOUR OUTDOOR WINTER FAMILY SESSION

You have your family session coming up and you’re not sure what to wear? Well, you’re in the right place. It’s easy to stress about what to wear during your family session, so here I want to share 5 easy & simple tips.

Be Comfortable - It’s important to wear something that makes you feel comfortable. This family session is about making new memories with your little, so you don’t want to feel uncomfortable the entire time! I suggest wearing something that you feel most confident in.

2. Choosing the Best Colors - Sometimes it can be hard to put together outfits that are cohesive & pleasing to the eye. I always suggest sticking to earth tones. We will be shooting outside, so we want to make sure these images are focused on you and not dads big logo on the back on his T-shirt. It’s always a good idea to stay away from neon, large print clothing as well. Photos generally look the best when there is a nice blend of 2 or 3 colors amongst everyone. Some of my favorite, budget friendly, places to shop for outfits are Old Navy, Target, and St. Vinnies. If you still feel a little stuck, check out my Family Inspirat ion Board for some ideas.

3. Bring Snacks - Bring bribe food or candy, you’'ll thank me later! I work my magic with kiddos, BUT if I’m not enough to hold your kids’ attention, snacks are great option for littles. Gummies are always a hit!

4. Bring Layers - Since we will be photographing your family session outside, I always suggest bundling up and staying warm. Bring your favorite hat, your favorite peacoat, or even scarf to change things up for a few of your images! Same goes with your kiddos. If you have a favorite beanie or jacket for them to wear, bring them.

5. Most of All, HAVE FUN! - Remember, this is a time to make some new memories with your littles. Have fun, relax, and don’t stress the small stuff. Make a family trip out of it, and go grab hot cocoa after your shoot!
